Phuket to host global Pride event from Oct 28

14/10/2026 19:08:00

Thailand will host the InterPride General Meeting & World Conference 2026 in Phuket from Oct 28 to Nov 1, showcasing its commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion and strengthening its international standing.

Bangkok Pride, Phuket Pride and the Pride City Network announced on Wednesday the global conference would take place at Duangjitt Resort & Spa on Patong Beach. It will be the first time the annual gathering has been held in Asia and Southeast Asia since InterPride was founded in 1982.

Held under the theme "Pearl of Asia", the conference will bring together LGBTQ+ activists, advocates and InterPride members from around the world to exchange knowledge, discuss challenges and strengthen cross-border cooperation towards a more inclusive society.

Chayutpong Lueangphunsin, a representative of the Pride City Network, said hosting the event would allow Thailand to showcase not only Phuket's tourism appeal but also the progress and diversity of the country's grassroots Pride movement.

The movement brings together organisers from 58 provinces, creating an opportunity to connect local experiences with international expertise, he said.

"We will use this platform to exchange lessons with Pride organisers internationally and bring those insights home," Mr Chayutpong said.
