Victims of an alleged Australian job scam have filed a complaint with the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division, seeking an urgent investigation into losses exceeding 10 million baht.
Tankhun Jitt-itsara, accompanied by the BSJ Law Firm legal team, brought the victims to the Central Investigation Bureau on Tuesday to submit evidence against a network accused of recruiting Thai workers via social media.
The network allegedly promised high salaries in Australia before demanding deposits and processing fees of hundreds of thousands of baht per person. However, the victims were unable to travel as promised.
The law firm estimates that dozens of people nationwide have been affected, with several borrowing money to pay the fees.
The complainants urged investigators to trace financial transactions, examine contracts and supporting documents, and prosecute those responsible.
