The BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV arrives in Philippine showrooms with a three-month sales lead already recorded by its overseas counterpart.

Known in its home market as the Beijing Off-Road BJ40e REEV, the model led the new-energy hardcore off-road SUV segment for three consecutive months, according to industry sales data cited by BAIC Philippines from MarkLines.

The vehicle is marketed locally as the BAIC B40e Trailmaster rEV and is now available at BAIC dealerships nationwide.

Why the overseas result matters

The three-month lead indicates growing interest in electrified vehicles that can offer more than urban transportation. Buyers in the segment are also looking for off-road ability, comfort, intelligent features, and improved driving efficiency.

BAIC Philippines sees similar potential among Filipino drivers who want an SUV that can handle weekday travel and recreational trips without giving up the capability associated with a conventional off-roader.

“At BAIC, our goal is to give the modern Filipino driver new-energy SUVs that fit the way Filipinos actually live. Vehicles that are capable on any road, efficient for everyday use, and ready for any adventure,” said Timothy Sytin, brand head of BAIC Philippines.

Range-extended power meets off-road capability

The B40e Trailmaster rEV is built on BAIC’s off-road platform and combines rugged, boxy styling with all-terrain capability and range-extended electric vehicle technology.

Unlike a conventional internal combustion engine vehicle, a range-extended electric vehicle uses an electrified drivetrain designed to provide the driving characteristics and efficiency benefits associated with electric propulsion while extending usable driving range.

BAIC positions the system as a way for drivers to improve fuel efficiency without giving up the performance expected from an adventure-oriented SUV.

The model is intended for a broad range of customers, including professionals, families, and drivers who regularly travel beyond paved urban roads.

B40 platform builds international momentum

BAIC says the B40 platform has developed a strong presence in the hardcore SUV category. MarkLines data cited in the release placed the BJ40e REEV at the top of its new-energy segment for three consecutive months.

The automaker attributes the model’s performance to its combination of durability, modern technology, off-road capability, and everyday usability.

Its local introduction also supports BAIC Philippines’ broader investment in electrified and off-road-capable vehicles. The company is expanding its dealer network and strengthening its nationwide aftersales infrastructure as it builds its presence in the Philippine SUV and electrified vehicle markets.

Filipino motorists can see the B40e Trailmaster rEV alongside other BAIC models during this month’s UAAGI On the Move display at the SM Megamall Fashion Hall.

The vehicle is also available through BAIC dealerships nationwide.

Bringing a model with an established overseas sales record to the country gives BAIC Philippines a stronger entry in the growing market for vehicles that combine electrification with genuine off-road capability.
