Anticipation is rising ahead of tonight’s Celebrity Traitors, with last week’s cliffhanger ending putting Traitor Richard E Grant in deep jeopardy – could he be banished before the series has even kicked into high gear?
Grant, who was selected by host Claudia Winkleman to be one of two Traitors alongside Maya Jama in the series’ first episode, caused waves of suspicion almost immediately last week when he – for slightly inexplicable reasons – declared to Faithful Joe Lycett during a gab in the kitchen that he was, in fact, a Traitor. Grant’s explanation was that he was merely expressing a kind of wish fulfilment, having been upset over not being chosen as a Traitor, but that seemed to go down like a lead balloon.
Tonight’s episode will also see either supermodel Jerry Hall or mathematician Hannah Fry be murdered, as they were the only pair of Faithfuls who forfeited the last challenge. Meanwhile, third Traitor James Acaster – who was recruited in episode two by Grant and Jama – will take his first big steps in his new role, which may prove tricky as he’s deeply panicked by the idea of being a Traitor.
