MANILA, Philippines — Thousands of A'TIN in the Philippines and abroad celebrated a historic moment for Filipino pop music as SB19 became the first P-pop act to perform at Lollapalooza, drawing enthusiastic crowds at the festival in Chicago and at nationwide livestream watch parties back home.
Taking the Allianz Stage, the five-member group delivered a 10-song set featuring some of its biggest hits. SB19's setlist included "DAM," "Gento," "Lawless," "Emoji," "Mapa," "Wakas," "Mga Kababayan," "Visa," "Dungka!," and "Crimzone."
Following the performance, SB19 thanked supporters saying, "What an unforgettable experience! We hope we made an impact, and we're beyond proud to represent the Philippines at Lollapalooza. Maraming salamat.”
One of the performance's biggest surprises came during "Dungka!," when Chicago Bulls mascot Benny the Bull joined SB19 onstage. Meanwhile, the group also gave fans an exclusive preview of "Mga Kababayan," its rendition of the late Francis Magalona's iconic anthem, which will be included in the soundtrack of DreamWorks Animation's upcoming film “Forgotten Island.”
The celebration extended well beyond Chicago as Filipino fans gathered across the country to witness the performance through organized livestream events.
The Department of Tourism hosted a free public watch party at the Rizal Park Open-Air Auditorium in Manila, where hundreds of fans arrived before dawn for the 4 a.m. Philippine time livestream.
Additional viewing venues were set up at the SMX Convention Center in Pampanga, the Bacolod City Government Center, Royal Mandaya Hotel in Davao, Ayala Malls Abreeza Activity Center, Ayala Malls The 30th in Pasig, Ayala Malls Central Bloc in Cebu and SM CDO Downtown Premier, allowing supporters from different regions to celebrate the group's achievement together.
The performance was also streamed globally through Disney+ and Weverse.
Demand for local viewing events was also evident as Puregold reported that all 300 slots for its exclusive "A'TIN A'TIN Lang" watch party at Puregold Qi Central were filled in less than 30 minutes.
The Lollapalooza appearance capped a busy week for SB19 in the United States. Ahead of the festival, the group performed at the Grammy Museum's Global Spin Live, while member Josh represented SB19 by throwing the ceremonial first pitch during a Chicago White Sox game.
The group is set to continue its overseas activities with a fan meeting at KT Zepp Yokohama before heading to Japan's Summer Sonic 2026, where it will perform at both the Osaka and Tokyo editions of the festival on Aug. 14 and 15.
SB19's Lollapalooza debut marks another landmark for the group and for the growing global reach of P-pop, further cementing Filipino artists' presence on some of the world's biggest music stages.
