MANILA, Philippines — The Sandiganbayan rescheduled the arraignment of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, former Public Works secretary Manuel Bonoan, for plunder and graft charges for their alleged links to the flood control scandal.
During the hearing on Thursday, the fifth division, led by Associate Justice Zaldy Trespeses with Associate Justices Maryanne Corpus Mañalac and Gener Gito, reset the arraignment to June 30 to allow for more time to resolve the pending motions of Estrada and Bonoan.
The court also ordered Bonoan's lawyers to submit a medical certificate after failing to show up during the arraignment.
Meanwhile, co-accused, Department of Public Works and Highways district engineers Denryl Cortuna, Manny Bulusan and Arturo Gonzales, have pleaded not guilty to the same charges.
