A dachshund’s ill‑fated attempt to burrow into his owner’s dressing gown has gone viral on TikTok, after a video showed the dog stuck inside a sleeve and being carefully rolled free as viewers watched in amusement.

The short clip was shared by the dog’s owner (@rachh05) on March 24 and has since been viewed more than 127,000 times, attracting over 4,000 likes and a flood of comments from amused dog owners who said the mishap felt all too familiar. In the video, the dachshund is shown completely wrapped inside the sleeve of a dressing gown, his long and short body tightly cocooned as his owner frantically but gently rolls the fabric to release him.

Overlaid text on the video summed up the situation with tongue‑in‑cheek bluntness: “You have no brain cells and manage to burrow your way into a dressing gown sleeve and get stuck.”

The post was captioned in a similar vein, with the dog’s owner writing: “Absolutely no brain cells in my sausages…Cecil would love a follow.”

The footage captures a chaotic moment many pet owners recognize instantly—when curiosity tips over into trouble. The dachshund in the clip, Cecil, appeared immobilized by the tightly wrapped sleeve, prompting his owner to act quickly, rolling the bundled‑up dog across the bed in an effort to unwind the fabric.

TikTok users responded in droves, with many sharing similar stories of their own dogs becoming trapped in clothing or household items due to their own naughtiness.

“Hahaha my little one did it too,” one viewer said. “Must be a dachshund thing.”

Others described moments that were humorous in hindsight but initially more alarming.

“We had left the door open, and she went up to the bedroom and did this. We had been out and don’t know how long she was like it,” one viewer shared.

Still, some reactions were simple expressions of laughter.

“Hilarious,” one person commented, while another added: “I laughed harder than I should have.”

Several viewers broadened the conversation beyond dachshunds, noting that other breeds were just as capable of getting themselves into trouble.

“My Frenchie did this to my uniform arm once omg we hadn’t laughed so bad in so long she was not impressed,” one viewer shared.

But many dachshund owners were quick to claim the moment as emblematic of the breed’s determination, feist and love of burrowing.

“All dachshunds 100 percent,” one comment read.

For Cecil, the dachshund at the center of the clip, the unexpected episode appeared to end safely and with little more than wounded dignity.
