The New York Yankees have multiple free agents with the MLB offseason now here, and Jazz Chisholm Jr is arguably the most notable.

There is an expectation that the Yankees could move on from Chisholm after his rough 2026 season. Due to this, the Yankees are now being predicted to sign a star second baseman to replace him.

In a recent article for Bleacher Report, Zach Buckley predicted that the Yankees will sign Pittsburgh Pirates star Brandon Lowe in free agency this offseason.

If the Yankees don’t bring Chisholm back, it would make a lot of sense if they pivoted to Lowe. He would have the potential to provide the Yankees’ lineup with another impactful power hitter. Thus, he could be a good player for New York to add as they aim for better playoff results in 2027.

However, with Lowe being one of this year’s top free agents, he is going to generate a lot of interest. Thus, the Yankees will have competition in the sweepstakes if they pursue him.

In 150 games this season with the Pirates, Lowe had 35 home runs, 96 RBI, and a .260 batting average. With numbers like these, he would be a big addition to New York’s roster if signed.
