Cat Enjoys Car Ride, Internet Can’t Get Enough of Response To Drive Thru

In a viral Instagram video, a cat owner takes her kitty on a car ride and then stops at a drive thru to get some food—what the cat does when she realizes goes viral.

The hilarious clip shared on Sunday under the username @nenicitaaa shows the tabby cat on the passenger seat of her owner’s car, standing up on her hind legs while her owner orders at the drive thru, joining her paws together and moving them up and down as if begging for a treat.

“We went to get In n Out last night and this was her the whole time we were passing the windows at the drive thru,” the caption says.

All cat owners are tempted to share food with their felines when they ask so politely, but it is not always a good idea. Many of the foods that we eat on a daily basis, which are harmless to us, can be toxic and even fatal to our kitties.

Cats Protection explains that it’s generally not recommended to feed cats human food because it doesn’t meet their nutritional needs and may be harmful.

Felines, including domestic cats, are obligate carnivores and require meat-based diets with specific nutrients like taurine, so vegetarian or vegan diets aren’t suitable. A few plain vegetables like carrots, peas, corn, broccoli and spinach may be given occasionally, but avoid garlic and onions as they are toxic for pets.

Plain cooked chicken, with no spices and no bones, can be offered within their daily food allowance, but shouldn’t replace a balanced diet. Small amounts of canned tuna—in water, not oil—aren’t immediately dangerous, but tuna for humans lacks essential nutrients and is high in salt and mercury.

Chocolate is toxic even in tiny amounts and should never be offered to pets. Other foods that cats should never eat, include alcohol, avocado, caffeine, grapes/raisins, raw meat/fish/eggs, dairy, nuts and yeast dough.

If any of the above foods are ingested by mistake, it is important that you contact your veterinarian immediately and get your pet checked out.
