The New York Knicks‘ 13-game playoff win streak came to a close on Monday night as they fell to the visiting San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
Knicks’ big man Karl-Anthony Towns has been a huge part of the team’s success as they make their way through the 2026 postseason. But in Monday’s loss at Madison Square Garden, his production was limited.
Towns recorded 11 points and eight rebounds on 4/10 shooting from the field. And for the third straight game, he failed to score a single point in the fourth quarter. He’s 0/6 shooting in the fourth quarter through the first three games of the NBA Finals.
Towns was asked about his lack of production in the final period after Game 3.
“We have a game plan and we want to execute it,” Towns replied. “Just doing what I can to execute it to the highest level.”
So far the Knicks’ game plan in the fourth quarter has been simple: get the ball in the hands of superstar point guard Jalen Brunson.
That game plan worked in Game 1 and Game 2 as the Knicks stole both road games at San Antonio’s Frost Bank Center, but it didn’t get the job done in Game 3.
Game 4 of the NBA Finals will tipoff at 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
