The Milwaukee Brewers are bringing one of their recently released pitchers right back.
The Brewers have announced that they have signed pitcher Bryse Wilson to a one-year contract. In addition, the Brewers shared that they have designated pitcher Lyon Richardson for assignment.
Wilson signing with the Brewers comes just a few days after the National League Central team designated him for assignment. After electing free agency following being designated for assignment, Wilson is now heading right back to the Brewers.
Wilson has appeared in six games this season with the Brewers, where he has posted a 0-0 record, a 2.63 ERA, and 10 strikeouts in 13.2 innings pitched. He also made three more appearances earlier this season split between the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs. With that, it has been an eventful season for the 6-foot-2 righty, and he will now be looking to stay put with the Brewers after landing this new deal.
In 172 career MLB games over nine seasons split between the Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago White Sox, Phillies, Cubs, and Brewers, Wilson has posted a 20-23 record, a 4.79 ERA, and 351 strikeouts.
As for Richardson, he appeared in just one game for the Brewers this season. During it, he did not allow a run and struck out one batter.
