Many connecting routes are gradually being completed.
In mid-October, while the systems and equipment inside Long Thanh Airport were being inspected and tested, outside the construction site, many connecting transportation routes were also entering their peak construction phase.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway is being expanded; the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway is fully open; and the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway continues to be completed. Along with Ring Road 3 and the system of roads 25B, 25C, DT.769, DT.770B, DT.773, access routes to the airport are being gradually expanded.

According to the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the first phase of Long Thanh Airport has a designed capacity of 25 million passengers per year. This scale requires a connecting transportation system capable of handling a large volume of vehicles, while also distributing traffic in multiple directions to avoid putting pressure on existing routes.
From Ho Chi Minh City, the current direct connection is the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway. The nearly 22km section from the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2 interchange to the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway interchange is being expanded to 8-10 lanes. The Long Thanh bridge is also being constructed with an additional 5-lane section parallel to the existing bridge.
Mr. Pham Thanh Hai, Director of the Southern Expressway Project Management Board under VEC, said that the overall project progress has reached approximately 72%. The goal is to essentially complete it in 2026 to serve the Long Thanh airport project in a coordinated manner. According to the plan, the road section will be basically completed by December 2026, while the Long Thanh bridge will be fully completed in 2027.
