In an interview with the press, Rafael Nadal shared his opinion on the possibility of Novak Djokovic winning his 25th Grand Slam title.

In a recent interview with the Spanish press, Rafael Nadal was asked about the impact of a player approaching 39 years old like Djokovic pursuing his 25th Grand Slam title on the world of tennis.

The Spanish tennis legend responded subtly: “I don’t think it’s any better or worse. Djokovic winning his 25th Grand Slam won’t change anything. Nole is already a legend and holds the record in tennis history.”

During his peak career, Nadal faced Djokovic 61 times, with the Spanish star winning 29 matches and losing 32 against his Serbian opponent.

Rafael Nadal will retire in 2024, ending his career with 22 Grand Slam titles. Novak Djokovic holds the record with 24 Grand Slam titles, his last victory being at the 2023 US Open, where he defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final.

In the last nine Grand Slam tournaments, the titles have gone to Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. Djokovic has attempted to break the dominance of these two young players but has been unsuccessful, even though Nole reached the final of the 2026 Australian Open and the semifinals of all four Grand Slam tournaments in 2025.

Djokovic will turn 39 next May, and experts predict that Nole is hoping to achieve his 25th Grand Slam title before retiring at Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open this year.
