I'm over 50, and my husband is almost 60. Our family finances aren't exactly abundant, but we don't have too many worries. The biggest concern for us is our only son, who is 30 years old and still hasn't gotten married.
Many times, I hinted at it and then directly asked about marriage and children, but he just laughed and said he hadn't met the right person yet. Sometimes, feeling impatient, I even asked acquaintances to introduce me to a few girls, but he refused them all. I just waited, telling myself that marriage can't be forced, as long as he finds someone suitable to settle down with.
Recently, my son unexpectedly announced he had a girlfriend and set a date to introduce her to us. Needless to say, my husband and I were overjoyed. I went to the market early in the morning, prepared some delicious dishes, and told my husband to dress nicely to welcome the guest. I kept thinking that this time the family would have good news, that soon we would have a daughter-in-law, and who knows, maybe in a few years we would be holding our grandchild.
