BYD officially launched its flagship sedan, the Seal 08, globally on March 5, 2026, solidifying its position as a key model in the brand's Ocean Network lineup. Developed on an 800V high-voltage platform combined with second-generation Blade battery technology, the Seal 08 sets new standards for charging efficiency and performance in the luxury electric vehicle segment.

The most notable technological highlight on the BYD Seal 08 is its Megawatt fast charging system. According to the manufacturer, just 5 minutes of charging provides enough energy for a range of up to 400 km. Furthermore, the second-generation Blade battery pack with optimized energy density is expected to give the vehicle a total all-electric driving range exceeding 1,000 km on a single full charge.
The aerodynamic design is inherited from the Ocean-S concept.
In terms of exterior design, the Seal 08 fully inherits the design language from the BYD Ocean-S concept. It features sleek, sharp headlights and a hood with strong, sculpted lines, creating an overall sporty coupe-like look for a mid-to-large size vehicle. This design not only enhances aesthetics but also optimizes drag coefficient, significantly improving the car's handling range.

To enhance safety and performance, BYD has integrated a LiDAR sensor array directly onto the roof of the vehicle. This is a core component of the next-generation intelligent driver assistance system, allowing the car to recognize its environment more accurately. In addition, the Seal 08 is equipped with rear-wheel steering, making this large sedan more agile in urban environments and more stable at high speeds.
