This achievement comes just 18 months after Kate Middleton entered cancer remission.
Princess Catherine (44 years old) embarked on a challenging hiking and mountain climbing journey that began on June 27th and was successfully completed within 24 hours. She shared that this was not just a goal for physical fitness, but an opportunity for her to "rediscover life after diagnosis" and contribute to the community by raising awareness about the profound impact of serious illnesses.
The National Three Peaks Challenge requires participants to conquer the highest peaks in three countries within the United Kingdom – Scotland, England, and Wales – within exactly 24 hours.
To complete this journey, Kate had to hike a total of 23 miles (approximately 37 km) with a total elevation gain of over 3,000 meters, and also travel 462 miles (approximately 743 km) by car between three locations.
The princess successively conquered three legendary mountain peaks:
Ben Nevis (Scotland) : The highest mountain in the United Kingdom, reaching 1,345 meters above sea level. This was the first mountain the Princess visited.
Snowdon Peak (Wales) : The highest mountain in Wales, with an altitude of 1,085m.
Scafell Pike (England): The highest mountain in England, located in the Lake District, with an altitude of 978m.
Kate was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in early 2024 and underwent chemotherapy before announcing she was in remission in January 2025. Her treatment took place at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea , west London.

Sharing her journey battling illness on social media, the princess wrote: "Every year, hundreds of thousands of people in this country hear words no one wants to hear. What follows is a path that tests us: physically, emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually."
Cancer doesn't just attack the body. It changes the way you think, feel, and profoundly affects every aspect of your life. I understand this from my own experience.”
Therefore, her fundraising goal this time is to promote "holistic healthcare" approaches, combining complementary therapies alongside clinical treatment protocols to help cancer patients maintain a better quality of life and mental balance during challenging times.
Throughout her mountain climbing journey, she was supervised by the Mountain Rescue team.
Waiting to greet Kate Middleton at the end of the journey were Prince William and his three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, along with her parents (Carole and Michael Middleton) and younger brother James Middleton.
Kensington Palace later confirmed this was a historic milestone, marking the first time a member of the British Royal Family had completed the prestigious Three Peaks Challenge.
All proceeds from the Princess's challenge will go to the Royal Marsden Hospital Charity Fund. The goal is to help more cancer patients access more comprehensive healthcare.
