According to reports, prior to the bridge's completion, relevant units urgently reviewed the construction plan, inspected machinery, equipment, and anchoring systems. On the tugboats and barges carrying the steel structures, captains and crew members were on standby, ready to coordinate and operate the vessels according to the agreed-upon plan.
Calculate the tides, adjust down to the centimeter.
The process of positioning the steel arches was meticulously calculated based on the hydrological characteristics of the Saigon River. Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoang, Senior Project Director of Nutifood, said that the units had studied hydrological data for many months and monitored water level changes since the beginning of the year to choose the appropriate time.
The construction units held a meeting to brief each other on their tasks before proceeding with the bridge joining.
According to Mr. Hoang, the period from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM on October 21st had the lowest tide, which was favorable for positioning the structure. The units chose the time when the water was still to reduce the force acting on the barge, creating favorable conditions for the movement and adjustment of the steel arch.
