The above clause was introduced after Tesla unveiled the new generation Roadster, a model first announced in 2017 but repeatedly delayed in its delivery to customers. The Roadster's reappearance continues to attract attention thanks to claims of superior performance, even the ability to "fly" or "glide."
According to Tesla's agreement, the deposit only gives customers priority on the waiting list for vehicle configuration and ordering. This is not yet a formal sales contract, nor does it mean Tesla is guaranteed to deliver a Roadster to the person who placed the deposit.
