Following the viral social media video of tourists precariously climbing on rocks near a deep ravine at Da Chong Mountain, on October 17th, the People's Committee of Quang La commune (Quang Ninh province) announced that it had contacted the forest management unit and neighboring localities to coordinate the erection of barriers and advise residents and tourists not to climb or take photos in this area without permission.
According to the leaders of Quang La commune's People's Committee, Da Chong mountain is located deep within the protected forest, far from the commune center, and can only be accessed on foot. The area has multiple entrances and borders Dong Mai ward, so controlling access requires coordination from many units.
