After being painfully knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid (losing 1-5 on aggregate in the round of 16), Pep Guardiola and Man City were consoled with the League Cup title, thanks to a 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the final, with a brace from Nico O'Reilly.

This is the Spanish manager's fifth League Cup with Manchester City , but this time Pep Guardiola's celebration was even more emotional and passionate than ever before.

This is understandable, given that Pep has gone through many difficulties (both professionally and personally) in the last two years. His marriage has broken down, Man City finished last season empty-handed in all competitions, the risk of this continuing, and the League Cup final against Arsenal on March 22nd is an opportunity for him and his players to avoid that.

While top scorer Haaland remained silent, young star Nico O'Reilly was hailed as the hero, bringing smiles and relief to Pep Guardiola and the Man City stars.

The moment after the match was particularly noteworthy: Pep embraced his players and shared his joy with his beautiful eldest daughter, Maria.

Man City are currently 9 points behind Arsenal in the Premier League. Despite having played one fewer game and having one match remaining, the chances of Pep Guardiola's team turning the situation around are almost impossible.

However, Pep and Man City have a chance to win another title – the FA Cup, where they will face Liverpool in the quarter-finals (6:45 PM on April 4th).
