The 2026 Ford Ranger Wildtrak, launched in Thailand, features a 3.0L V6 engine producing 250PS and 600Nm of torque, along with some minor exterior changes.
Ford not only unveiled the Ranger Super Duty pickup truck but also introduced another premium version of this pickup truck to Thai consumers: the Wildtrak X. This model was first launched in the Australian market in 2023.
The 2026 Ford Ranger Wildtrak X for Thailand boasts a design similar to the Australian market version. Considered a bridge between the Wildtrak and Raptor models, this vehicle features several exterior design changes, most notably the front end resembling the Ford Ranger Stormtrak. Here, it also features a black painted grille with a wider honeycomb mesh.
The horizontal trim strip remains in the middle of the grille, but it incorporates a black logo instead of Ford's signature blue. Additionally, this horizontal trim strip is accompanied by a pair of auxiliary lights on either side. According to Ford, these auxiliary lights improve visibility in all weather conditions and enhance safety at night. However, the auxiliary lights will only activate when the high beams are switched on.
Next up are the black "Wildtrak" embossed badge on the hood, center air intakes with painted trim, and a silver front skid plate. Other features include new cast aluminum running boards, a "Wildtrak X" logo on the front/tailgate, black painted door handles, and 17-inch wheels with a 6-spoke double-spoke design and two-tone machined finish.
The vehicle is equipped with General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tires (265/70 R17), a foldable roof rack, and sliding
sports bars on the cargo bed. Furthermore, Ford uses a unique paint color for this version: Ignite Orange. In addition, there are three other color options: white, black, and gray.
A similar orange color is also used to accentuate the interior of the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X. The front seats are embroidered with the words "Wildtrak X" as a distinguishing mark. The most notable highlight of the interior is the 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
In addition, other features include leather upholstery, 8-way power adjustable front seats, a 12.4-inch TFT multi-color digital instrument panel, a vertically oriented 12-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, interior ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, and four USB ports.
The vehicle's safety features include 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, an electronic parking brake, automatic headlights, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning with brake assist, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert with brake assist, rear brake assist, and collision avoidance steering assist.
Specifically, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X features an upgraded suspension system with new Bilstein Position-Sensitive Dampers. These shock absorbers incorporate End Stop Control Valve (ESCV) technology, enhancing control and balance during off-road driving. The combination of larger wheels and the upgraded suspension increases the ground clearance of the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X by 30 mm. Compared to the standard Ford Ranger Wildtrak, this version has 26 mm higher ground clearance.
Compared to the Australian market version, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X for Thailand boasts one notable change: the engine. This pickup truck uses the same 3.0L twin-turbo V6 diesel engine as the Ford Ranger Super Duty. This engine delivers a maximum power of 250 horsepower at 3,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 600 Nm in the 1,750-2,250 rpm range.
In the Australian market, the vehicle is equipped with a 2.0L twin-turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine, producing a maximum power of 201 horsepower and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive. Additionally, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X also features a 10-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive with a central active differential and a rear differential lock. The vehicle has six driving modes, including Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Mud/Ruts, and Sand.
In the Thai market, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X is priced at 1.469 million Baht (approximately 1.2 billion VND). This is still significantly cheaper than its sibling, the Ford Ranger Super Duty (1.599 million Baht, equivalent to 1.31 billion VND). Like the Ranger Super Duty, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X is unlikely to be imported into Vietnam due to several new policies.
