Finland, the happiest country in the world, is launching a special program to share its "secret" with the international community.

Through a campaign organized by Visit Finland, Finland's national tourism promotion agency, global tourists have the chance to win a free 7-day trip to experience summer like a local.

The trip will take place in June 2026 in the Lakeland region – considered a "hidden gem" of Finnish tourism.

This is one of the most ideal summer vacation destinations for locals. In the summer, people often flock to Lakeland to "slow down," recharge, and immerse themselves in nature.

This free, one-week experience program will immerse visitors in the typical Finnish summer lifestyle.

Guests can wake up however they like, participate in outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, meeting friends, enjoying barbecues, traditional saunas, and relaxing by the lake. These simple yet nature-friendly activities are considered key to creating lasting happiness.

How do I register?

To participate in the program, applicants need to complete two simple steps. First, applicants must complete a social media challenge (Instagram or TikTok) with a partner.

You and your travel companion will record a video in English, introducing yourselves and sharing your thoughts on a summer vacation in the Finnish lake region. The post must include the required hashtags.

Next, applicants fill out the online application form on the chilllikeafinn website and attach a link to their post.

The program is open to all travelers worldwide aged 18 and over. Each application requires a pair of participants, who can be a partner, friend, relative, or anyone accompanying you. One of the participants must have a valid driver's license.

The deadline for applications is March 29, 2026. The program will select 6 couples to participate in the experience.

Those selected will have the opportunity to experience a truly "Finnish" summer, where, according to locals, simply slowing down and immersing yourself in nature for a few weeks is enough to recharge for the rest of the year.
