Despite losing 500 points for not participating in the 2026 Rotterdam Open, Carlos Alcaraz still reached the milestone of 58 weeks as the world number one on the Association of Tennis Players (ATP) rankings.

The ATP rankings released on February 9th saw Carlos Alcaraz lose 500 points compared to the previous week for failing to defend his Rotterdam Open title, but he remains firmly at world number one, while also reaching a new historical milestone.

The Spanish star holds the world number one ranking for 58 weeks, equaling the record of American player Jim Courier. The 22-year-old is among the 13 players who have held the world number one position for the longest time in history.

Despite losing 500 points, Carlos Alcaraz still leads the ATP rankings with 13,150 points, 2,850 points ahead of second-placed Jannik Sinner. These two top players have created a significant gap between themselves and their rivals, having jointly won the last nine Grand Slams.

The positions behind them are still held by Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, and Lorenzo Musetti, however, the points gap between this group and the rest is showing signs of narrowing.

With his victory at the Montpellier Open in France, Felix Auger Aliassime rose to sixth place, surpassing Taylor Fritz and Alex De Minaur. Jack Draper climbed one spot to 12th, Learner Tien rose to 23rd, and Valentin Vacherot jumped five places to join the top 30.
