After years of anticipation, Nissan Philippines has officially relaunched one of its most beloved nameplates — the Nissan X-Trail — at the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) 2026, held from June 4 to 7 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The return of the X-Trail marks a significant moment for Filipino car enthusiasts. The nameplate has deep nostalgic roots in the country, having earned a loyal following during its T31-generation run. Now arriving as the all-new T33 generation, the X-Trail comes bearing a major upgrade: an electrified e-POWER drivetrain — a timely move as demand for electrified vehicles continues to grow in the Philippine market.

The T33 X-Trail presents a completely fresh exterior that Nissan describes as muscular and rugged. Up front, the signature split DRL design sits prominently above the headlights, complemented by a wide, open grille that sets it apart from the closed-off noses typically associated with electrified vehicles.

On the sides, the SUV rides on 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with thick sidewalls for improved ride comfort. The side mirrors draw visual cues from other Nissan models, while the larger body results in a taller greenhouse with more glass area, translating to better all-around visibility.

At the rear, Nissan’s signature Boomerang LED taillights return in more pronounced form, a callback to the T32 generation. Block “X-TRAIL” lettering and the new e-POWER badge round out the rear, while a subtle chrome garnish adds a refined touch. A blacked-out roof is available on First Edition models at an additional cost.

Inside, the X-Trail receives a thorough interior upgrade befitting its flagship positioning. The cabin is dominated by a dual 12.3-inch display setup — one for the digital instrument cluster and another for the infotainment system — running Nissan’s all-new, smooth, and fluid UI, the same as that found in the Nissan Patrol.

Connectivity is well covered with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and two USB-C ports up front. Rear passengers are also catered to with additional USB-C ports and a thoughtfully designed center armrest with a built-in phone holder.
Other notable interior features include:
Tri-zone climate control
Eight-way power-adjustable seats for both driver and front passenger
Panoramic sunroof with tilt function
Ambient lighting (non-configurable)
Privacy glass and rear window sunshades

Cargo space is rated at 482 liters, and Nissan notes it can accommodate up to four golf bags. The wide trunk opening also makes loading and unloading everyday items more convenient.
Under the hood is the e-POWER powertrain, which uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that does not directly drive the wheels. Instead, it serves as a dedicated generator that charges the battery, which in turn powers the electric motor. This configuration promises continuous, instant electric torque for a responsive driving feel.

Output figures stand at 204 PS and 330 Nm of torque, making it a strong contender in its segment.
The all-new Nissan X-Trail is offered in a single variant priced at ₱2,290,000. Color choice may affect the final price. A First Edition variant — distinguished by its blacked-out roof — is also available at a premium over the standard SRP.
All units sold in the Philippines will be imported directly from Japan, a detail Nissan Philippines is keen to highlight as a mark of quality assurance.

The X-Trail goes up against formidable rivals in the midsize SUV segment, including the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. With its electrified powertrain, premium feature set, and the weight of a beloved nameplate behind it, Nissan Philippines is betting that the wait was well worth it.
The Nissan X-Trail is on display at PIMS 2026 from June 4 to 7. Interested buyers can visit the Nissan booth at the Philippine International Motor Show to experience the vehicle firsthand.
